Bandit Industries, through a newly established partnership with  Poland-based company, Pronar, Sp. z  o.o., will commence offering select trommel screens and conveyor stackers. Bandit will unveil and demonstrate the Model 60 GT-HD stacker and the Model 7.24 GT trommel screen at the U.S. Composting Council’s Conference and Tradeshow in Glendale, Arizona, from January 28-31.

“This partnership is very important for Bandit because it will broaden our product portfolio, and allow us to offer a more complete line of equipment for various markets,” said Bandit General Manager Felipe Tamayo. “Pronar is one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural, compost, recycling equipment in world. The mix of products that our companies offer blend perfectly together.”

According to Bandit, their company and Pronar share the same level of commitment to their customers – building machines to withstand the rigors of the job and backing every single machine with the full support of the factory.

The Model 7.24 GT (shown above) is a track-mounted or towable trommel screen that has some of the highest throughput in the industry. This trommel is capable of screening a variety of materials, including compost, urban wood waste, and biomass. Plus, operators can swap out the drum screens to meet a specific size requirement.

The Model 60 GT-HD stacker (above) is capable of moving up to 600 tons of material per hour, and able to stack material nearly 40 feet high, creating piles of material without the need of an additional loader or operator. The stacker can be mounted on tracks, making it easy to move around a grinding yard quickly.

Bandit’s network of industrial equipment dealers will begin to offer these machines to their customers in 2019, and Bandit will begin to offer factory support.

“Our dealer network is very excited about this new line,” Tamayo said. “And I think our customers will see the advantages of these two new machines as they become more familiar with them.”

Pronar was founded in 1988 in northeastern Poland. Its owners founded the company focused on producing a wide range of machinery to across multiple industries. Bandit Industries was founded in 1983 in mid-Michigan, and today employs nearly 500 professionals to produce hand-fed and whole tree chippers, stump grinders, The Beast horizontal grinders, track carriers and skid-steerloader attachments.

Tidy Planet, the UK-based food waste specialist and the company behind Rocket Composters, has expanded into Scandinavia. This summer, the company appointed Norwegian waste management firm Berekraft for Alle as the company’s latest distribution partner.

Anaerobic digestion is a practical and efficient solution to the considerable amounts of organic waste produced by intensive animal production, food processing, and municipalities – turning waste into useful biogas which can be burned to produce heat and electricity. Unbalanced degradation of such organic waste can produce highly odorous gases including hydrogen sulfide, ammonia and volatile fatty acids, causing nuisance to the surrounding communities, and often opposition to anaerobic digester plants and related facilities.

BioHiTech Global, Inc. has received orders for its Revolution Series Digesters from four universities located in the northeastern US.  The Company has completed several unit installations and expects to deliver a total of twelve digesters to the four universities that have a combined enrollment of more than 100,000 students.  Upon full deployment, the twelve digesters will be capable of diverting more than 2 million pounds of food waste from landfills each year. TerraCycle has announced the 2019 “Collection Craze” recycling challenge in partnership with the Schneiders Lunch Mate and Maple Leaf Simply Lunch brands. Designed to educate school students, teachers and communities about maintaining healthy bodies and a healthy environment, participants compete to win a share of $3,700 in TerraCycle points for their school.

The waste management industry relies on weight to quantify transacted material. As a company that transforms plentiful waste products into usable substances for a variety of industries, Clean-N-Green of Lindenhurst, NY, is part of the recycling revolution. In this case, raw sewage is converted into a fertilizer base after heating and distillation in a plant fueled by used cooking oil. The business required a rapid way to track inbound waste inventory while also ensuring outgoing vehicles comply with weight limits on public roads to increase profits by reducing unplanned expenses.

The next wave of pine beetles has already hit many spruce trees during the summer months, resulting in a good portion of our forests dying. As a result, it will be necessary in the coming months to process logs, crown mass and in particular beetle-infested wood into saleable wood chips, which are used as a biomass energy source to replace fossil fuels in many places. And the trend is increasing.

Micron Waste Technologies Inc., a leading developer of waste treatment systems for cannabis and food waste, has announced that it has received a Health Canada Cannabis Research License to develop its aerobic waste digester technology for the treatment of cannabis waste. The license, effective for five years commencing August 23, 2019, will be used to further develop the world’s first waste treatment system that alters and denatures cannabis waste while recovering reusable water. The Company’s R&D team, led by Chief Technology Officer and Founder Dr. Bob Bhushan, will employ the new license to accelerate and expand the cannabis waste and wastewater programs, both through its industry-leading Cannavore waste processing system and through its developing facility wastewater management program at the Micron Waste Innovation Centre in Delta, BC.

In September the City of Bangor, Maine will formally move over to a new arrangement in which residents will throw all of their recycling in with their trash, leaving the mixed waste to be picked up from the curbside every week, as currently happens with trash.

Santa Barbara County, California has buried about 200,000 tons of annual trash in its Tajiguas Landfill since 1967. The landfill was on track to hit its capacity in about six years from now, until the announcement of a renewable energy project that is expected to extend its life by an additional decade.

A landmark initiative launched today in Riyadh aims to improve the collection and recycling of the waste in the city of Riyadh as part of Saudi Vision 2030 goals to preserve and protect the environment and achieve environmental sustainability by improving recycling rates.

Established in the eighth century, Ye Olde Fighting Cocks Pub was purchased in 2012 by Christo Tafelli. While committed to preserving the pub’s history, Tafelli also endeavored to create the greenest and most cost-efficient pub in all of England. To accomplish these seemingly opposing goals, he oversaw a £1 million ($1.3 million) renovation that included the installation of a cardboard bailer, a glass crusher, and an LFC-70 biodigester to lessen lorry collections, shrink landfill deposits, and reduce the pub’s carbon footprint.

Recycling waste wood can be a profitable business. This largely depends, however, on high material quality, compliance with ever-increasing environmental requirements and ensuring maximum flexibility and cost-effectiveness of the solution.

Cooperation between Dutch company Goudsmit Magnetics of Waalre and German company Sortatechas resulted in a mobile metal separator that separates both ferrous and non-ferrous metals from bulkflows. The companies will jointly demonstrate the Goudsmit Mobile MetalXpert at the Recycling Aktivin in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Power Knot, the specialist in systems for processing waste food in commercial food service operations, has installed a Power Knot LFC biodigester at the Government Palace of Chile. El Palacio de la Moneda, located in Santiago, is the seat of the President of the Republic of Chile, and is essentially the equivalent of the United States’ White House. This is Power Knot’s first contract with a government agency in Chile and was managed through ENERGIA ON, Power Knot’s representative in Chile.

As part of its commitment to help innovative Canadian cleantech companies scale-up and export, Export Development Canada (EDC) is pleased to announce its support for Ecolomondo, with a $32.1 million project finance loan. The loan will allow the company to build its first commercial plant that will treat end-of-life tires, in Hawkesbury, Ontario, creating approximately 40 direct jobs and bringing substantial economic benefits to the region.

Gilroy, California-based Z-Best Products (California’s largest producer of 100% organic certified compost), is bringing to market “Z-Best Organic Mulch,” following certification by the California Department of Food & Agriculture and Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) on May 19. Gilroy is a sister company to San Jose, California-based Zanker Recycling, a specialist in construction and demolition (C&D) materials processing systems and recycling.

Talk to someone not in the waste industry and you’ll find they’re stunned that in 2019, we’re still burning and burying waste, or even just allowing it to rot on the forest or orchard floor, or on the farmer’s field. These methods result in losing the valuable energy found in waste – energy which can both help to relieve the pressure on rapidly diminishing fossil fuels and help reverse the harmful trends of global warming and climate change. Climate change is no longer a problem for the next generation. We simply must do better and do better now.

Micron Waste Technologies Inc., the Vancouver-based developer of waste treatment systems for food and cannabis waste, has been awarded United States Patent and Trade Office (USPTO) intellectual property protection for its commercial organic waste digester unit. Micron’s Application No.: 29/644,928 sought and won recognition for leading innovative technological features which enable the digester to efficiently process food and cannabis waste on a commercial scale. Micron’s digester hardware is also protected by an Industrial Design Certificate of Registration from the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO).

A membership to the USCC provides organic waste recyclers access to valuable educational resources and training, networking opportunities and better visibility within the compost industry. End of Waste Foundation Inc. has formed its first partnership with Momentum Recycling, a glass recycling company located in Colorado and Utah. With their common goals of creating a zero waste, circular economy, Momentum is implementing End of Waste’s traceability software based on blockchain technology. The EOW Blockchain Waste Traceability Software can track glass waste quantities from bin to new life. (Hauler → MRF →glass processor → manufacturer.) This software ensures quantities are recycled and provides immutable data to increase recycling rates.

SynTech Bioenergy, a Colorado-based specialist in renewable, carbon negative clean energy, has signed an agreement with Waste Resource Technologies, Inc. (WRT), Oahu, Hawaii, to immediately begin deploying SynTech’s proprietary BioMax power generation solution to convert green waste collected by WRT, as well as fruit processing waste from agricultural operations, into clean bioenergy.

Advetec , an engineering company specializing in the scientific bio-degradation of waste, has formed a partnership with UNTHA shredding technology to roll out a sophisticated aerobic digestion solution for a selection of mixed waste streams. Advetec has treated a variety of waste and effluent, since it was established in 2000. Keen to develop a more homogenous product for optimal digestion rates, the company reached out to UNTHA to explore the capabilities of its four-shaft shredding system.
